歴史上の人物は私も少しは知識がありましたし、歴史に詳しい上司の方のリクエストで興味がある人物が出てきたら、描くのがすごく楽しかったです。
難しかったのは鎧や刀などの武器、まれに出てくる馬でした。
自分でもうまく描けたとは少しも思えません。鎧はすごく細かいところははしょって、全体に緩く消しゴムをかけることで、光沢感を出したりしました。あとは、わざと線を描かないことで逆に深みを出して重厚感が出るように努力しました。
馬も難しかったです。
どうしてもちゃっちくなってしまうんです。
しかし、何回も描き直しているうちに、馬の長い顔の特徴がつかめてきました。

まずは簡単に馬の形を描き、そこから資料を見ながら細かい線を入れていくと、どうやらこうやらそれなりにリアルな馬になってくれました。
たまに馬に乗っている武将などが出てくると、頭を抱えました。馬が難しいのは前述の通りで、それに人間がプラスされるとなれば人と馬の大きさの対比なども考えなければいけません。普段はあたりをつけない私もこのときはあたりをつけました（対象物の形や位置、大きさなどをおおまかに下書きすること）。
あとは、いかにかっこよくイケメンに描くかを心掛け、人目を惹くように頑張りました。

I usually don’t make a rough estimate, but this time I did (rough drafting of the shape, position, size, etc. of the object).
I also tried my best to draw him in a cool and handsome way so that he would attract people’s attention.

As a general rule, copyrights run 70 years after the author’s death.
